For a Mac, I highly recommend upgrading to 10.5 (Leopard) or 10.6 (Snow Leopard, Intel only) and using the built-in Time Machine. Hop over to Newegg and pick up an external hard drive. Plug in the drive, format it for Mac, and you’re all set.
Sounds very Matrix-like, doesn’t it? Virtual machines are simply a way to run Windows programs on your Mac without having to completely reboot to switch back and forth between Mac OS X and Windows. Parallels Desktop is up to version 5 now, and is pretty robust.
